About Electricks

Founded by András Bártházi, Electricks started by creating reliable electronic products for magicians and mentalists. As we grow, we’ve widened our offer to include non-electronic tools and services, enabling us to provide full solutions for performers of all levels.

From Web Development to Magic Innovation

András had a daily job in the beginning. He quit his job by the end of 2023, and since then has focused only on Electricks. After working in web development since high school, it was a big career switch. Now his long-term goal is to retire from this industry. It’s a nice challenge, and he’s enjoying it. András applies the product development practices he learned (release early, release often, for example), and is learning new things like marketing and company building. He’s playing with ideas he thinks are new to the magic industry. Atom was a “lucky bag” product, and our recently released Golden Ticket is similar to it.

Learning and Adapting

András learned a lot about shipping and product development during the months after we fine-tuned PeekSmith and added as many integrations as possible. Meanwhile, he also worked on new products, but this time with dedicated factories, not hand-crafted by a friend. The year after, in January, we introduced Spotted Dice and SB Watch. Both are very high quality devices. We kept releasing new products, including several watch models since then.

Product Development and Collaborations

One of the things András is proud of is collaborations. On this journey, we’ve worked with several talented people making accessories for our products, and we have so many integrations we can’t count. This never happened in electronic mentalism before.

In 2023, we introduced Atom, and it was clear we created a product that was different on the market. It had issues, but we created Atom 2 and compensated customers.

SB Watch 2 is unlike any other watch on the market, and we just started discovering how we can use this technology.

We’re also unique with firmware updates—no other electronic mentalism tool maker has released as many new features as we have for our devices. Our headline products keep getting new features after release. These are not one-shot products, but long-term supported and improved like your iPhones.

András believes in change and experimenting. Not all products will be a hit, and not all will be flawless (but we will fix hiccups). We’ve made mistakes and will make mistakes. András used to say to developers he managed that mistakes are the sign that you tried something new and worked on it. Only people doing nothing will make no mistakes.
