Standalone Mode

Standalone mode lets you use PeekSmith 3 without a phone. Connect it directly to other Bluetooth devices like watches, dice, impression pads, and card readers.

Button Controls

Always Available

Side button (long press): Turn device on/off.

In Standalone Mode

Both front buttons (press together): Enter device settings menu.

Left button (long press): Display device information (name, firmware version, battery).

Right button (long press): Auto-scan and connect to nearby devices.

Side + Right button (press together): Interactive scan — choose which device to connect to.

Inside Settings Menu

Left button: Navigate to next setting.
Right button: Change current setting value.
Side button: Exit settings menu.

Connecting to Other Devices

PeekSmith 3 can connect directly to:

Watches:

• SB Watch — Control time predictions.

Dice:

• Spotted Dice — Display values and thumper vibrations.
• Kinetic Mental Dice (by Marc-Antoine) — Display values and thumper vibrations.

Card Readers:

• Insight / Insight Pro (by Hugo Shelley) — Read poker and ESP cards.

Impression Pads:

• Audience in Wonderland Pad (Lumen) — View drawings and handwriting.
• Mindbuster Pad (Labco) — View drawings and handwriting.
• Telepathy Pad — View drawings and handwriting.
• Pitata Whiteboard — View drawings and handwriting.
• Pitata Memopad — View drawings and handwriting.

Other Devices:

• Rainman 2 (by Labco) — Display count of objects on the scale.
• Scrabble (by Labco) — Display selected letter tiles.
• SoulMate Smart Scale — Display weight measurements.
• GhostMove — Connect up to 3 devices.
• Ray — Magnetic detection and orientation sensing.

To connect: Long-press the right button or press side + right button together. Make sure devices aren’t connected to other apps.

To disconnect: Turn PeekSmith off and on.

Access settings by pressing both front buttons together.

Display Settings

Card Presentation
How poker/ESP/color cards appear:

• Text — Card names as text (default).
• Visual — Card images.
• Visual+Text — Both image and text.

Dice Presentation
How dice values appear:

• Dots — Visual representation (default).
• Numbers — Numeric values.

Dice Order
How multiple dice are arranged:

• No Order — Connection order (default).
• By Value — Lowest to highest.
• By Color — Red, white, blue, black, green.

Dice Movement Indication
How moving dice are shown:

• Border — Green border around moving dice (default).
• Hidden — Hide value while moving.
• Switch — Switch between dots/numbers while moving.

Smart Text
Automatically display cards, emojis, and icons when recognized in text messages. Turn on to see visual representations instead of text.

Screen Brightness
Set default brightness (1-10). Apps can override while connected.

Screen Mirroring
Flip screen vertically for mirror peeks. See examples.

Drawing Boldness
Line thickness for impression pad drawings:

• Normal — 1-pixel lines for detail.
• Bold — 2-pixel lines for simplicity.

Drawing Rotation
Rotate drawings to better fit the screen.

Drawing Auto Clear
Clear screen after inactivity:

• Never — Don’t auto-clear (default).
• 15/30/60 sec — Clear after pause.

Vibration Settings

Dice Thumper Vibrations
Vibrate dice values:

• 1/2/3 — Short vibrations.
• 4 — Long vibration.
• 5 — Long + short.
• 6 — Long + two shorts.

Vibration Screen Off
Turn off screen during vibrations to save battery (useful when device is hidden in pocket).

Vibration Num Pattern
How numbers are vibrated:

• Morse codes — Always 5 vibrations.
• Long means 3/4/5 — Mix of long and short.
• Only shorts — Count of short vibrations.

Vibration Repeats
Repeat patterns for confirmation:

• No repeats (default).
• One repeat.
• Two repeats.

Vibration Strength
Adjust intensity (1-10) based on hiding method.

Vibration Short
Duration of short vibration (milliseconds).

Vibration Long
Duration of long vibration (milliseconds).

Vibration Space
Pause between letters/numbers (milliseconds).

Vibration Pause
Pause between vibrations (milliseconds).

Vibration Repeat Gap
Pause between pattern repeats (milliseconds).

Button Actions

Side Button Press
Assign action to side button (standalone mode only):

• None (default).
• Vibrate.
• Clear Screen.
• Toggle Screen.

Left Button Press
Assign action to left button (standalone mode only).

Right Button Press
Assign action to right button (standalone mode only).

Device-Specific Settings

SB Watch Crown Press
Assign action to watch crown when SB Watch is paired directly.

SB Watch Show Time
Display actual watch time on PeekSmith screen when connected.

GhostMove Routine
Display mode for up to 3 GhostMove devices:

• Which Side Up.
• Movement.

Ray Detect Orientation
Auto-detect Ray facing direction.

Ray Vibrate On Magnet
Vibrate when magnet detected nearby.

Ray Sensitivity
Adjust magnetic detection sensitivity.

System Settings

Autoscan at Startup
Automatically scan for devices on power-on. Useful if you primarily use standalone mode.

Magnet Sensor Event
Assign action when magnet detected/removed:

• None (default).
• Vibrate.
• Clear Screen.

Device Indicators
Visual/vibration feedback for device status.

Device Reconnect
How long to retry lost connections:

• 30 seconds (default).
• Indefinitely — Higher power consumption.

Reset on Disconnect
What happens when disconnecting from app:

• Enabled — Reset to defaults (recommended).
• Disabled — Keep current settings.

Auto Shutdown If Inactive
Turn off after inactivity:

• 60 minutes (default).
• Custom time.

Display shows countdown every 5 minutes with vibration warning.

Tips

• Battery life: Lower brightness and enable “Vibration Screen Off” to maximize battery.
• Quick connect: Enable “Autoscan at Startup” if you always use the same devices.
• Button shortcuts: Use side + right button for interactive scan to choose specific devices.
• Disconnect quickly: Just turn PeekSmith off and on instead of navigating menus.
