Ray Direct Connection

Connect PeekSmith 3 directly to Ray for magnetic detection and orientation sensing without using your phone.

How It Works

Ray detects magnets and senses orientation changes. When connected to PeekSmith 3 directly, you’ll see real-time feedback on screen when Ray detects a magnet or changes position.

Connecting to Ray

Implemented in firmware 1.8.x and later.

1. Make sure Ray isn’t connected to any app.
2. Update PeekSmith 3 to latest firmware.
3. Press and hold front right button on PeekSmith 3.
4. Shake and turn Ray to wake it up.
5. PeekSmith 3 scans for 20-25 seconds (press right button to stop early).
6. Once connected, magnet detection displays on screen.

Configuration

In PeekSmith 3 standalone settings, you can configure:

Ray Detect Orientation — Auto-detect Ray facing direction.

Ray Vibrate On Magnet — PeekSmith vibrates when Ray detects magnet.

Ray Sensitivity — Adjust magnetic detection sensitivity.
